I’ve written an article for online yoga magazine DoYouYoga.com on restorative yoga, one of my favorite yoga types! My article is entitled A Busy Girl’s Guide to Restorative Yoga.
I normally attend vinyasa and FNR classes, but I always make time for restorative.
Restorative yoga is a relaxing form of yoga. It won’t make you sweat because you’ll be comfortably lying down on the mat the whole time. You’ll be supported by various props such as bolsters, blankets, blocks and straps. The room is dim, with candles and soothing music to aid in achieving total mind and muscle relaxation. In some cases, the instructor even goes around the room to give each one a quick massage!
Sounds like a breeze, right? Unfortunately, for busy, working girls like me, it can be quite a challenge.
To know why restorative yoga is both suitable and challenging for working women, and to get a yoga enthusiast’s insights on how to maximize this practice, you may view my article here.
Also, restorative yoga classes are being offered in Urban Ashram Manila every Thursday.
