Fuel and Drive - Inspiration

Books, blogs, and beyond!  FUEL & DRIVE is a regular piece on Pink My Ride that features books, blogs, quotes, and works of art that can help fuel you along the journey, just as they’ve inspired me.

Weeks ago, I signed up for a Life With Intention Online class of Jess Lively, one of my favorite bloggers of all time!  The class started last February 11 and wrapped up on the 18th, and the experience was just AMAZING.

Life With Intention

It was my first time to attend an actual online class, so that alone is amazing enough.  But what’s even more incredible is the content of the class.  I’ve been very big on goals, especially lately, but then I learned from this class that goals are only secondary and INTENTIONS are more important.  The danger with  goals is our tendency to be shaken and discouraged if we don’t achieve them.  If we do achieve them, there’s a possibility of feeling dissatisfied and “lost”, and questions like “What now?  What’s next?” will start to pop up.  With the right INTENTIONS in place, however, we will never get lost because we have a firm grasp of who we are at the present moment, instead of being defined by some goal that has a short-term impact.

The Life With Intention Online class comes with lectures by Jess Lively, a workbook, and a private Facebook group where you can freely interact with Jess and your classmates on the topics.  We were given tools and techniques in setting our intentions in four life areas — Possessions, Personal Habits, Relationships, and Career — and the corresponding goals for each.  It’s not an easy process, in fact I’m still working on my intentions up to now, but the class has allowed me to rethink and reflect on my values and what matters to me.

Jess has been really supportive in helping us craft specific intentions we’re having a hard time on, and in answering all of the questions we had during or after class.  To register for her next class,  visit her website.
